Melzi Wa Batho has done it again! The certified hitmaker has unleashed his highly anticipated EP titled Mdala. Using his family name as the title of this project, DJ Melzi places much importance on this EP. Nine tracks make up the album, with the first track being aptly named Mdala as well, featuring Teejay, Mkeyz, Rascoe Kaos and Lesax.
DJ Melzi, who lives in the UK now, makes it a point not to forget his South African family. After the success of his 19-year Old King album in 2021, the multi-talented DJ continues to release new music consistently. He has had the opportunity to collaborate with world-renowned individuals like Steve Ray Ladson now that he has access to more significant opportunities. He doesn’t forget the core of his fan base, who keep him going because he has features that keep the African chants high.
A great year for DJ Melzi
Having had a fantastic year, Melzi secured a brand partnership agreement with Bumbu and Luc Belaire, moved to the United Kingdom, collaborated with legendary artists, and met artists like Rick Ross. DJ Melzi continues to grow as a brand, businessman and, most notably, a musician. On this new EP, you can hear the development. The ambitious ambition of the Baykele hitmaker sets him apart from his peers. He has created a unique musical path for himself using elements that are not typical of amapiano sounds. He continues to shine because he is one of the most musical amapiano producers in the business.
The instruments blend perfectly with the vocals. Mdala is about letting yourself be; he is not about the pessimistic energy and would instead opt for optimism. Melzi is about positivity and removing all the dark thoughts harbouring in his mind. He promotes opening yourself to more lightness in your life, never giving up and being patient. With this, he swears that there will eventually be light at the end of the tunnel.
