Kickstart Your Year with Savanna’s TryAthlon: Fun, Fitness, and Flavour

February 25, 2025

Crush Your Goals with Savanna’s #TryAthlon: A Refreshing Start to the Year

Expecting anyone to go cold turkey after a South African Dezember is crazy business. Nonetheless, we do it anyway because we are an ambitious bunch with goals to reach. Personally, I prefer to soft launch my New Year’s resolutions – especially those that have to do with dropping or picking up a habit.

Thankfully, the pressure is nonexistent this year. This year, we are crushing goals, while being softer and kinder to ourselves for any moments that may be perceived as weakness. To make it even better, we have an auspicious partner this year in our favourite dry drink – Savanna.

Only those who give it a go truly win.

Savanna’s TryAthlon: Redefining Resolutions

Starting the year strong, Savanna has redefined how we show up for and as our best selves with their TryAthlon! Starting with their #TryJanuary, they helped wean us off the bottle. Yes, we initially set out not to drink completely, but truly it was not to drink as much as we did in the previous month. So what if there was a sip or three here and there? With Savanna, it was good to know it remained a dry January through and through.

This month, Savanna encouraged us to strengthen our physical and mental well-being. No pressure, of course, we increased our heart rates with a challenging enough hike at Wolwespruit Bike & Trail Park. With no competition in mind, I felt right at home amongst the trees, with the rocky ground under my feet and a stream flowing nearby, I was both stimulated and relaxed at the same time.

The scenic walk ushered us to a much-needed yoga session – yogahaha to be specific. While stretching for the gods darling, Celeste (yes, thee Celeste Ntuli) had us in stitches. Yoga is challenging enough, but it has nothing on yogahaha. Not only does it offer an extra challenge to the practice, but it also offers more for your mental stability with all those laughs that came out but still demanded you keep your position.

A Perfect Ending: Music, Food, and Good Vibes

The beautiful, sunny day in Pretoria was concluded with a fiesta complete with a feast, all the Savanna variants and an epic groove session by DJ Doowap. Ah guys she threw down! She played old-school goodies such as Won’t Let Go by DJ Tira, Bubzin and Musa?! Amerido by Cndo & Daddy?! What?! You know I lost my mind and my body had to follow suit.

Mamela, it was a time. So much fun was had for literally just showing up for ourselves. I’ve been known, but Savanna confirmed that trying is the best thing you can ever do for yourself. In the end, you’ll always be better for it.

Body, mind and soul were all nourished and the illusion of perfection is slowly, but surely being done away with. Cheers to trying and knowing Savanna will be encouraging you the whole way through.
