Greeted with a refreshing welcome drink and warm smiles, check-in was seamless, and it set the tone for what would be an indulgent yet grounded stay.

Inside the Median King Room – A 4-Star Experience of Calm and Class

Offering a choice of three-star, four-star, and five-star graded rooms, I had the pleasure of staying in their Median King room. From the second I walked in, the 4-star room welcomed me with a fresh floral scent that immediately set me at ease. A place of relaxation and peace, the room comes equipped with all your essentials and some thoughtful extras to make your stay as comfortable as possible.

Fitted with a smart workstation to ensure you handle business with ease, the room has a floor-to-ceiling closet equipped and has ample room for all your luggage and belongings, and a safe for your valuables. The Maslow Time Square hotel also provided me with the softest gown and a pair of slippers fo me to relax in.

The room also features a modern tea station complete with a Nespresso coffee machine for the anytime caffeine fix, which I thoroughly enjoyed with the biscuits they provided. The 4-star room has ample space to waltz comfortably, and the couch at the foot of the very comfortable king-sized bed is a great place to end the day and take in the extraordinary  views.

A Bathroom Worth Lingering In

The bathroom is the real star of these living quarters. Adorned with white tiles, frosted glass, silver accessories, and warm lighting, this room would make anyone want to spend an extra 5 minutes in it. Thoughtful once more, one need not fret when you’ve forgotten the basics. The Maslow Time Square hotel, true to form, anticipates your needs. In addition to the shower cap and bar soap, the prestigious hotel also provides a generous amount of:

• Body wash
• Conditioning shampoo
• Moisturising conditioner
• Body Lotion

In addition to that, you’ll also find a shaving kit complete with cream and a razor, as well as a bamboo dental kit that has toothpaste and a brush.

My love of bathing had to take the back seat this time around as the shower had me at first sight. Boasting a large shower head in what I can describe as a small room, the shower area has a vanity esq mirror. Listen, between the perfect shower pressure and the mirror, it was pure bliss. My only regret is not spending an extra ten minutes in there, which is grounds to go back (not that I needed an excuse).

It’s the kind of room you could easily spend the whole day in, especially with 24/7 room service, making it a destination in itself rather than just a place to sleep. But with everything The Maslow Time Square hotel has to offer, it would be hard to stay in for long.

Breakfast with a View at the Luminary Lounge

Spoilt for choice, there’ll always be something to do at Maslow Time Square. I would have loved to start the day strong at their fully equipped gym, complete with 360-degree panoramic views of Menlyn and Pretoria. I instead opted to go straight to the Luminary Lounge, where breakfast is served to hotel guests. Offering all the savoury and sweet treats one needs to boss the day in a comfortable space, accompanied by breathtaking scenic views, the food is fresh and delicious. It was only the salmon that wasn’t deboned, but other than that, I could have easily spent the better half of the afternoon there.

Guests at The Maslow Time Square hotel also have access to the Solis Bar. A chilled area, with a splash pool. It’s the perfect place to cool off on those hot days that Pretoria is known for, and toast the day away with your favourite beverage while the sun sets.

The property is home to Time Square Casino, Sun Arena, and is home to a number of bars, cafés, and top restaurants curated by Sun International, offering diverse culinary experiences. I highly recommend you experience the Agrilla Meet and Cocktail Bar – you will not be disappointed.
