South Africa is set to showcase its heritage to the world as it is announced to be the host country for Miss Heritage Global Pageant 2022. The press launch was on the 9th of June 2022 at the Kalahari Waterfront in Thohoyandou, the international beauty pageant officially announced that the event will be hosted in South Africa, in the culturally rich Limpopo province.
The well-renowned international beauty pageant that focuses on the promotion of the diverse heritage in the world is set to take place at the Kalahari waterfront Nandoni, Limpopo in South Africa on the 24th of September 2022. Speaking on the importance of the global pageant taking place in Limpopo, the CEO of Miss Heritage Global Mbofholowo Mbodi said, “We’re quite excited to bring the Miss Heritage Global pageant 2022 to South Africa and specifically Limpopo. As an individual who was born and bred in Limpopo, there is so much to see and experience in terms of our cultural heritage; and we want the world to experience the beauty of our heritage sites, cultures, food and the local communities because that is what Miss Heritage Global is all about – coming together to recognize and celebrate our unique cultures.”

The pageant is not solely focusing on the beauty of the queens. It’s also an opportunity for local communities in Limpopo to benefit in various ways. The co-founder of Miss Heritage Global Ronald Tisauke expressed that it hopes this pageant will help create jobs by engaging with different communities from different backgrounds to participate in the event.
“We are not just trying to be internationally recognised, but the point of this pageant is to also help marginalised communities and reshape their destiny if possible. So, a part of it is to also try to identify the gaps within societies and help where we can through the pageant,” he said.
Miss Heritage Global 2022
Miss Heritage Global 2022 will take place in September, which is also recognised as Heritage Month in South Africa. Miss Heritage South Africa, Zabelo Hlabisa, shared her excitement about being the host Queen and added that she is looking forward to teaching the rest of the queens about South Africa’s heritage.
As beauty queens from around the world gather in September to showcase their Heritage, it is a cue to the world why being united in culture matters. According to Angela Skomolo, COO of Miss Heritage Global 2022, “South Africa is well-known for its diversity and the contestants will have a chance to tour some parts of South Africa to get a better understanding of the history of the country.”
Miss Heritage Global’s official press launch showed that the exciting main event is now near. International and local artists are expected to be a part of this event on the 24th of September 2022. Eddie Phaswana, the Director of Kalahari Waterfront, assured everyone that people can expect to see the cultural beauty of Limpopo as it is a hidden gem that is yet to be explored.
