The Body Shop Launches Vibrant Art of Us collab with Yay_Abe

Unveiling the Bold Mural at V&A Waterfront

The Body Shop recently unveiled a striking new mural at its flagship store in the V&A Waterfront, Cape Town, by award-winning illustrator Russell Abrahams, also known as Yay_Abe. This bold and vibrant artwork is part of a broader collaboration between Yay_Abe and the brand, celebrating the rich cultural diversity of South Africa.

The mural, a testament to The Body Shop’s commitment to local artistry, introduces customers to the ‘Art of Us’ series, which is being rolled out across several Workshop stores nationwide.

These Workshop stores, located in key malls, are designed with sustainability in mind and include:

  • Nicolway (Gauteng)
  • Cavendish Square (Western Cape)
  • Canal Walk (Western Cape)
  • Tyger Valley (Western Cape)
  • Sandton City (Gauteng)
  • Brooklyn Mall (Gauteng)
  • Gateway (KwaZulu-Natal)
  • V&A Waterfront (Western Cape)

They incorporate recycled and upcycled materials like reclaimed wood and part-recycled plastic storage crates, aligning with The Body Shop’s ethos of environmental responsibility.

Enhancing the Customer Experience

This initiative also coincides with a significant moment for the brand—the acquisition of The Body Shop International by the Auréa Group and the renewal of its franchise agreement with Clicks.

The ‘Art of Us’ murals symbolize a fresh chapter for The Body Shop in South Africa, weaving the country’s vibrant cultural essence into its identity and enhancing the shopping experience for its customers.
