On the 10th of December 2020, #PopBottles is set to take a step out of the ordinary and shake up the golfing world. The first of its kind, the annual Hip Hop Invitational – a day of fourballs and exceptional activations all influenced by the culture of hip hop, ending off with a specially curated dinner and of course an after-party the Pop Bottles way!
The Hip-Hop Invitational was inspired by Pop Bottles’ flair for experimental adventure and out-the-box thinking. This is another way of uniquely bringing people together for an unforgettable experience. The day is not just for golfing fanatics or hip-hop lovers, but instead, it’s about merging two worlds that one would never have thought would come together.
DJ Dimplez, the founder of Pop Bottles, spotted this synergy when looking outside of the interest of his Pop Bottles following. He mentioned that the experience is “not just for the golfing experts but is about coming together to network, relax and hanging out with others in a space that provides a bit of fun competition and enjoyment”. He went on to say, “You don’t even need to be good at golf. You just have to want to have fun and socialise. We have one of the most beautiful courses in Joburg for this first-ever Hip Hop Invitational.”
The day is set to start at 11 am with a proper Pop Bottles welcome. For those unfamiliar with golf, there will be ‘teams’ of four playing on the field, with prizes such as longest drive, closest to the pin and some rather unusual brand-related challenges.
For every fourball purchased at a R1,000.00 per person, you can expect green fees, golf cart hire, caddy service as well as halfway house meals. But the experience would not be complete without the after-party where you can expect to ease into the night with the sounds of DJ Dimplez, DJ Milkshake and Ayanda MVP.
