Leading local talent showcase contemporary colour in collaboration with Plascon

August 3, 2023

Plascon Presents: Local Interior Design Studios at Decorex Joburg 2023

Putting Local Interior Designers in the Spotlight

Three leading local interior design studios — Tshepo Sealetsa Studio, Infinitude Design, and Cocoa Bean Interior Design Studio — have been invited to create three distinctly different roomsets inspired by Plascon’s 2023 Bringing it Home colour palette. Their interior design concepts will feature a selection of soothing hues inspired by the natural landscapes of South Africa that bring warmth, hope, and a celebration of nature to interior design directions. These exciting roomsets will be showcased at Decorex Joburg, running at the Sandton Convention Centre from 3 to 6 August 2023, and aim to demonstrate how the right paint color choices can really pull a room together.

“We really want to put local interior designers in the spotlight,” says Plascon’s head of marketing, Suvasin Moodley, “which is why we are dedicating stand space to these inspiring interior design talents and letting them ‘do their thing’! And what better way to showcase our household name products than to see them come to life? We’re excited to see how each design team interprets our 2023 colors, and we know this will be both inspiring and practical for visitors, as they can view the decor schemes, meet the designers, ask questions, and get paint advice from the Plascon team all at the same time…”

Meet the Designers

Tshepo Sealetsa Studio

The participating designers were carefully chosen, starting with Tshepo Sealetsa’s eponymous studio, centered around the interior designer’s passion for personal spaces and the desire to help people tell their stories through design. His Decorex Joburg roomset stages a lounge, which he believes to be the center of the home, with Plascon’s Fragrant Days (Y6-C2-2) and Evening Mist (1) as a calming backdrop.

“I am proud to have partnered with Plascon to create a space that is not only beautiful but also inclusive and desirable,” says Sealetsa, adding that the “deeply personal and layered space showcases a part of what the Tshepo Sealetsa brand is about.”

Infinitude Design

For Geoff and Sheila Peck, the husband-and-wife team behind Infinitude Design, a design consultancy founded in 1992, the inspiration behind their office roomset is ‘to show how the home can be brought into the office to allow people to feel comfortable yet inspired to work to the best of their abilities.’ The designers selected the complementary Plascon’s Blue Grace (B4-B2-1) and Baked Earth (O4-B1-1) for their roomset, harnessing the reflective and calming characteristics of blue and the invigoration and creativity of orange.

Cocoa Bean Interior Design Studio

The third Plascon roomset at Decorex Joburg will be courtesy of Cocoa Bean Interior Design Studio, a multidisciplinary design studio, and creative consultancy founded by Deanne McBride in 2001. Cocoa Bean’s unique dining-room space (which will also feature the brand’s custom furniture range) invites guests to indulge in a fusion of elegance and visual delight thanks to a combination of Bleached Baobab (Y2-C2-2) and Plascon Safari Sun (O7-C1-1). The warmth and sophistication of Bleached Baobab, combined with the rich energy of Safari Sun, amplify the visual appeal and provide a warm and sensual backdrop for dining experiences.
