Songster Nomfundo Moh releases Amagama deluxe

September 15, 2022

The Singer and songwriter Nomfundo Moh’s talent is irrefutable. She releases top-of-the-chart music, and there’s no turning a deaf ear to her songs as it would be futile.

She won her first award for best afro-pop album seven months after releasing her debut project, Amagama, which is evidence of her talent and consistent hard work.

Nomfundo said, “I am grateful for this achievement. It’s something that I knew would happen at some point, but I never imagined it would happen on my first album. I do believe this is because of the hard work I put towards my craft.”

With the success of Amagama, Nomfundo decided to add five more tracks, resulting in a deluxe version of the album. The first song is titled, Izibusiso. It is a song that speaks about the hopes of your family and neighbours receiving the same blessings you do, if not more. It’s about wishing success, not only for yourself but for those around you.

There are some notable features on the new songs. Sibaningi, which is currently her caller tune, has the Ngud’ hitmaker Kwesta. The songster also brings along Sjava and Shekhinah on track 3, Sundays are for Lovers, in her repertoire of love songs.

As for Nomfundo’s most successful love song, Phakade Lami is at the top. A double platinum plaque was presented to her in recognition of this hit single, which features Ami Faku and Sha Sha. Furthermore, Soft life is another hit single.

Big congratulations to Nomfundo Moh on her SAMA win.

“Soft life is one song I wasn’t paying much attention to but, after my graduation, people were so touched by the song and the meaning of the song highlights the fact that a lot of us are hustling for a better life for ourselves and our families,” said Nomfundo.

At the time of our conversation, the ever-busy singer-songwriter was on her way to Johannesburg. Her long-awaited opportunity to perform live has finally come true. She is on her way to performing alongside Sjava, DJ Tira, De Mthuda, Big Zulu, and more at her concert Nomfundo Moh & Friends Live at Crisp Lifestyle in Vosloorus.

Nomfundo Moh – the philanthropist

Aside from her musical talents, Nomfundo has studied Social Work. She has a natural desire to help people and to give back to the communities that raised her and supported her music. In the coming year, she hopes to launch a foundation.

“I am a person that loves people. I want to help make this society a better place by raising awareness about social issues like unemployment and how to overcome them. I want to encourage young girls and boys to choose the appropriate career path, one that will benefit them in the future. I hope to focus my attention on the foundation next year because my music is taking up most of my time right now,” said Nomfundo.

The rest of this year will be dedicated to promoting Nomfundo’s deluxe album. Moreover, she will feature more artists, even outside of South Africa, and travel to other provinces outside of KZN and Gauteng.

Nomfundo Moh will release a music video for Izibusiso soon. Catch her on Twitter and Instagram to stay updated on her next live performances.
