SUPTA and Khanyisa’s Sebenza is an AfroHouse inspirational anthem
Following singles Emathandweni and “Khuleka” featuring Basetsana, the Godson of AfroHouse SUPTA returns with motivational spring anthem ‘Sebenza‘ with all-round entertainer Khanyisa.
SUPTA‘s music is devoted to his faith and is filled with themes of spiritual exploration and identity. Now, positioning himself as the Godson of AfroHouse, he assumes himself the conduit of the music he makes. ‘Khuleka’ and earlier spiritually charged releases were the stepping stones to his musical identity. Though a different temperature, ‘Sebenza’ still holds the same motivational energy with Khanyisa singing:
- Noma ningan’thathela phantsi – Even if you undermine me
- Noma ningan’hleba nabangani – Even if you gossip about me with your friends
- Sebenza kanzima mina – I work hard
- Ndiphandel’ izingane zam – I hustle for my children
“Sebenza is a song that speaks to one’s hustle. To putting in the work and doing it for themselves, their families, and their kids,” SUPTA says.
“It’s a representation of just hustling, and doing what needs to be done, so you can be what you want to be, and live the life you want to live,” he adds.
The Collaborative Power of SUPTA and Khanyisa
The collaboration with singer Khanyisa catapults the potential of ‘Sebenza’ and what it can do on the radio and on the dancefloor.
Radio host and DJ, SUPTA, will drop an accompanying lyric video to the single along with content that delves into how he finds a balance between his work as a radio host, producer, and a working DJ with his passion for family.
2022 was a pivotal year for SUPTA’s Afrotech exploit releasing “Indoda Emadodeni” with Nkosazana Daughter, “Ntinga Ntanga” alongside Thalitha and Obie and Ntinga Ntanga (EP) which featured five tracks.
SUPTA not only reimagines his space in the Dance music genre but also affirms it with this new release.
