The Ultimate Hip-Hop Celebration at Sprite Limelight
Sprite Limelight has once again united the global hip-hop community with its signature campaign, blending the power of music and culture. The third season, held on 19 October, attracted hip-hop fans from all over, showcasing the best of local talent and more. Fans poured in to witness live performances, a vibrant streetwear scene, and immersive brand experiences that elevated the energy throughout the day.
“Sprite Limelight connects artists and audiences by sharing relatable stories of heat,” says Franscoe Bouwer, Senior Marketing Director for South Africa at Coca-Cola Africa. “By going behind the scenes, we uncover what challenges put artists under pressure. We feature artists like well-known South African rapper, singer, songwriter, and record producer Blxckie, demonstrating how they handle life’s heat through their music.”
Blxckie Steals the Show
The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly Blxckie, the South African Collaborator for the Sprite Limelight campaign. Blxckie, a master of singing, producing, and rapping, gave an unforgettable performance of his exclusive Sprite single, “South.” His presence on stage electrified the crowd and gave fans a behind-the-scenes look at the creative power driving the Sprite Limelight campaign
The Sprite Limelight campaign bridges the gap between artists and fans by exploring the theme of “heat”—the pressures and challenges faced by music creators. Each artist involved in the campaign takes a shared hook and reinterprets it, offering their personal narrative through the music.

In true Hip-Hop fashion, several local streetwear brands showcased their latest clothing lines, adding to the vibrant atmosphere. Attendees were also spoiled for choice with a wide variety of food stalls, offering everything from street eats to gourmet bites.
