A Brutal Fruit Spritzer Sparkling Celebration in Johannesburg
Johannesburg just had its main character moment thanks to Brutal Fruit’s “Spritzer Saturday Brunch“. Over 600 guests flocked to Ground the Venue on 16 November 2024 for a glittering day of chic vibes, fabulous flavours, exceptional performances and Instagram’s wildest dreams come to life. If FOMO had an event – this would be it!
MC Nqobile Khwezi wasn’t just hosting—she was serving. Draped in charisma and killer style, she greeted guests as they sauntered down the pink carpet, dripping in outfits that screamed, “Yes, darling, this is custom.” Oh, and while the photographers snapped away, a harpist plucked away in the lush Crab Apple Gardens because of course, serenity was the vibe du jour.
The Décor was “extra” in the best way. We’re talking floral arches, beaded chandeliers, and a golden doorman because subtlety was clearly not invited. Guests stepped into a space so opulent, it might’ve made Orapeleng Modutle tear up. Communal tables stretched out under tented heavens, emphasizing connection and celebration.
High-Energy Hosts and Flowing Brutal Fruit Spritzers
Enter Pamela Mtanga, a human Red Bull on heels, hyping the crowd as if brunch was a sport. (Shoutout to her stylist, all 3 dresses looked immaculate on her.) Every announcement landed like a mic drop, the energy surging like the dance floor was already open—though that’s probably just what happens when Brutal Fruit Spritzer flows like a sparkling stream.
When you needed a break from the opulent marquee: The Magwanani Spa stations had you covered with tree-shaded massages because nothing says self-love like a mini rubdown. And if you wanted to level up your selfie game, Arc x Fenty Beauty rolled out makeup sessions to keep you looking snatched. Don’t forget the flower wall photo ops and my personal favourite – a mini charging station where Brutal Fruit Spritzer cosmetic goodies were up for grabs without you needing to leave your email address and phone number.
Guests were treated to an artfully curated “brunch box,” featuring a mini beef pastrami roll, a roast lamb tartlet, seasonal fruit, and a selection of cheese and crackers—essentially a one-person charcuterie board packed for convenience. While undeniably classy, it did leave me craving a plated meal with actual brunch food—like, where were the waffles? Or eggs? It’s hard to channel brunch vibes when the bacon’s MIA. Dessert, however, swooped in for the win with Brutal Fruit-branded macarons (because why not flex your logo on sweets?) and a gelato stand that served indulgence with a refreshing twist.
Show-Stopping Entertainment
The entertainment wasn’t just good—It. Was. Art! Ayanda MVP started us off with sing-along tunes and got everyone on their feet. The headliner? Shekhinah, backed by the jaw-dropping 21-piece JPO Orchestra. Together, they delivered a performance so magnetic, you could feel it in your Champagne flute. DJ Kent closed the evening with beats that sent everyone shimmying into the sunset. The star power was so bright, you’d have forgotten that the weather rained on our parade. Literllay. South African royalty like Bontle Modiselle, Thando Thabethe, and Refilwe Modiselle graced the event, serving looks and vibes that screamed, “We woke up like this.”
The verdict: This wasn’t just a brunch. This was a masterclass in glamour, indulgence, and why Brutal Fruit Spritzer is the Beyoncé of Spritzers. If you missed it, well…better luck next time, darling.
