CKay makes his billboard debut and it’s no Felony

March 5, 2021

Multi-talented singer-songwriter and producer CKay’s Felony single debuts at number 17 on the Billboard Triller charts.

Felony – the lead single off his recently released EP, titled Boyfriend – a 7-track body of work boasting a variety of featured artists from across the globe includes:

  • Ghanaian alternative pop artiste Amaarae on ‘Show My Side’
  • France’s Bianca Costa on ‘Skoin Skoin’
  • Nigeria’s Oxlade
  • Ghana’s KiDi together on a beautiful song called ‘Mezebu’

Each song on the Boyfriend EP is inspired by various guitar genres and several stringed instruments. On every one of them, Ckay lets his romantic self-shine brighter than ever.

Says Ckay: “Feels amazing to be on the Billboard charts! it’s a big deal! Thank you to all my fans streaming, the media for playing my music and my team”.

CKay

Chukwuka Ekweani, known publicly as CKay is the rising star in the ever-burgeoning Afrobeats scene. A multi-talented artist, whether behind the boards as a producer or in front of the mic performing his self-penned songs, it is CKay’s single-minded vision that shines through.

2019 saw the launch of his debut EP ‘CKay The First’ on which his future break-out hit ‘Love Nwantiti’ was the centrepiece. In 2020, that single was featured on Diddy’s TeamLove.com Danceathon raising relief funds during the COVID-19 pandemic.

August of this year saw him drop a series of remixes of ‘love nwantiti’ featuring friends from around the World – Elgrande Toto from Morocco, Franglish hailing from France, and US Latin star De La Ghettoamong them. November 2020 saw a culmination of sorts – a feature and co-production credits on Nigerian superstar Davido’s ‘A Better Time’ album alongside Lil Baby, Sho Madjozi, Nicki Minaj and more.

CKay is now ready to share his new music with the World as he releases his sophomore EP ‘Boyfriend’ on the 12th of February 2021.

Mezebu. This drop follows the release of two earlier single Felony and Kiss Me Like You Miss Me both featured on the EP.

Each song on the Boyfriend EP is inspired by various guitar genres and a variety of stringed instruments, and on every one of them, Ckay lets his romantic self-shine brighter than ever. His face lights up as he sings about his muse on Isabella where he makes a plea to his love interest to take it easy on him on the subtly sexual and dreamy song Jeje De Whine.

With his EP fully packed with heart-melting songs, CKay is sure to carve out and claim the hearts of music lovers worldwide.
