March 1, 2022
Fashion Without borders

Fashion Without Borders Africa is back with its 8th fashion show taking place on the 26th of March 2022, at the Radisson Blu Gautrain Hotel. It will also include workshops and pop-up stalls in addition to the fabulous fashion.

Serge Kabisoso says despite the years of disruption – due to COVID-19 – the fashion industry is beginning to find its feet again.

“It was during this pandemic that we saw technology and social media being used on a massive scale to keep people safe, productive and connected while being physically apart,” he highlights. “Young and upcoming fashion designers must then continue taking advantage of this digital transformation. To initiate a series of initiatives to improve their speed to market and to implement sustainable innovation in their core product design, manufacturing and supply chain processes.”

Fashion Without Borders will give designers access to the wider market in the African continent. This year’s Fashion Without Borders Africa will be a blend of new talent, emerging and established names, with a talent list that comprises of:

Inspiration behind Fashion Without Borders Africa

Kabisoso adds that Fashion Without Borders Africa is inspired by how fashion has evolved into an aspect of entertainment more so than business across the continent. Their objective is to change that through partnerships and conversations. Through these, a solid foundation can be built for sustainable longevity.

By forming partnerships on projects, businesses in the fashion and textile industries can reach their full potential, save money and be innovative. Because of this, Fashion Without Borders Africa has collaborated with:

  • Radisson Blu Gautrain Hotel
  • BLM Naturals
  • LeAfrika
  • Perfect Choice SA
  • Roimanitou

These partnerships are what contribute to the multi-billion-dollar industry that is fashion. They create jobs for designers, models, beauticians, make-up artists, producers, textile designers, manufacturers, event organisers, and more.

Fashion Without Borders Africa is more than just a fashion show. It is also a lifestyle event that includes:

  • Pop-up stalls
  • Industry-related workshops

Creating further opportunities that will allow people to interact with both local and SADC region designers.
