Review: Avon ANEW Essential Vitamin C serum

Having wanting to try out and add a vitamin c serum to my skincare regime, I was unable to settle on which to start with. All I knew is that I want to add one to my routine. And why wouldn’t I? Besides hydrating the skin, it also:

• Protects the skin from the sun 
  • And soothes sunburn
• Gives you that glow that everyone is yearning for
• Boosts your skins collagen production
  • Which in turn helps with the appearance of wrinkles
• Reduces the appearance of those dreaded under-eye dark circles
• Reduces pigmentation 

So, why would I not want it in my skincare routine? Why wouldn’t you?

I received the Avon ANEW Essential Vitamin C serum and I was both excited and anxious to try it out. It’s always a bit nerve-wracking to try out anything new on my dermis because, as we all know, I breakout far too easily for my liking. This could go either way – I would either love it or hate it. No in-between and no extremes between the two. 

Thankfully, it was the former with a fixed place in my routine to prove it.

With the equivalent of vitamin c from 30 oranges compressed in a 30ml bottle, it is grease-free and fast-absorbing.

How it fits into my skincare regime

After I cleanse my face and attend to my breakouts (if any), I then go ahead and apply the ANEW Essential Vitamin C serum. I wait for it to get completely absorbed into my skin before I go in with my usual moisturiser and end it all with my sunscreen. This is my day time routine. My night-time regime is more or less the same with the exception of the sunscreen (of course).

Results

The Avon ANEW Essential Vitamin C serum has a pleasant barely-there-but-there citrus scent that fades over time. Being lightweight, it immediately left my skin feeling refreshed, energised and soft and supple. Within less than a week, I could notice a significant radiance and brightness (hello glow).

My skin tone was a bit more even than before. And even though I had some new breakouts, they decreased in frequency and were handled.

When using the ANEW Essential Vitamin C serum, keep in mind that a little goes a long way. Honestly, two to three pumps may be more than enough.
