Black Crown Gin & Tonic celebrates creativity calling to #OwnYourCrown!

In anticipation of Africa Month in May, Black Crown Gin & Tonic is pleased to highlight and celebrate the valiant, unapologetic royalties that make up our African artistry. Being the spirit that knows what it means to own your crown, Black Crown Gin & Tonic has invited some of the best innovators in their game to breath even more life into their distinctive visions. These young trailblazers, who are encouraged to take the throne, will include the best from mixology to graphic art. 

Proudly South African made from homegrown citrus fruits, Black Crown Gin & Tonic is excited to embark on this venture that is set to tantalise your eyes and intrigue your mind. The distinctive artistic collaborations are set to showcase the creators who Own Their Crowns.

Focusing on the visual arts, the artists featured will be a photographer, graphic artist and mixologist. We will witness them illustrating their creativity by celebrating their individuality.

Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you our creative royalties…

Photographers

Artist whose work represents life is much-loved culture capturer Leeroy Jason is popularly known as darealclickclak. He’ll be joined by fashion photographers, David BlaqThemba Mbuyisa and Shane Burnell as the captures of life who’ll continue to ignite moments in the culture. Set your heart ongoing behind the scenes as they share their processes in telling stories through their creative eyes and translating that via a lens.

Full-time visual artist Greatjoy Ndlovu has been described as an artist’s artist. No stranger to local and international audiences, Greatjoy intertwines life and art in thought-provoking pieces expressed as drawings from unassuming sketches. With works that adorn the walls of the likes of Ava Duvernay, he will create charcoal and oil on canvas to create artistry that furthers relay to Own Your Crown.

Mixologist

World-renowned award-winning mixologist Julian Short, from Johannesburg, will be giving us our cocktail treats! Using his expert skills and knowledge, he’ll create artistic flavour fusions that have earned him credit at the world’s biggest mixology festivals. Using Black Crown Gin & Tonic, Julian will bring his championship creativity and share trade processes into the art of mixing premium drinks.
