South Africa’s favourite comedian, producer and actress, Celeste Ntuli, took home two awards on Saturday night at the 9th Annual Savanna Comics’ Choice Awards. Also known as the queen of Zulu comedy and the first South African female to record a one-woman show DVD, Celeste bagged the Comic G Award as well as the Flying Solo Award.
Earlier this year Ntuli signed with Africa Creative Agency to manage her career. One of the agency’s goals is to bridge the gap between talent in Africa and the rest of the world. This year, Ntuli spread her wings and hosted three nights at The Essence Music Festival in New Orleans and also performed at The Laugh Factory in Hollywood, CA.
“Words cannot express how I feel. It is great to finally be recognised for my achievements. After nine years of hard work and dedication, killing and headlining shows on different stages, I realise I must work even harder. With or without awards I was born to be GREAT,” commented Ntuli.
