Celeste Ntuli unlocked another level of stand-up comedy with 4 sold-out shows in less than a month of announcing them. The South African comedian was set to have everyone in stitches from the 11-14th of March at the intimate Bioscope Independent Cinema located at 44 Stanley Ave, Milpark Johannesburg and she did exactly that!
The first night kicked off Thursday, 11 March in true cinema style with popcorn and cold beverages in hand to set the mood. The MC, who was also the opening act for the night, was multi-talented stand-up comedian and musician Tats Nkonzo. He set the tone for the fireworks that Celeste unleashed.
Popularly known for her Zulu comedy, Celeste flipped the script to accommodate her English speaking audience but not without taking a poke at them for their “white privilege”.
The show adhered to very strict COVID-19 regulations with sanitizing stations visible at every corner and only accommodating 25 people wearing masks in the venue. When Celeste’s 90 minutes was over, you wished you had booked your ticket for the next day just so you could indulge in her talent once more. It was 4 days worthy of an encore.
