Grant’s ambassador creates a unique tasting experience for guests

October 16, 2022

Delicious food, great company, and Grant’s Triple Wood 12 Whisky set the mood for an unforgettable night at Grant’s 12 Dinners.

Hosted by Grant’s ambassador and brilliant whisky connoisseur, Sandile Mthiyane, the dinner was a masterclass to be remembered.

Grant’s 12 Dinners aim to showcase Grant’s Triple Wood 12 liquid credentials through a premium whisky deconstruction at a premium restaurant with a premium audience.

“#TogetherWeMakeIt comes alive at the Grant’s 12 Dinners, the success of which is only realized when the brand, restaurant and guests all come together to create a unique experience,” said Mthiyane.

On what makes it so unique, he had this to say: “Common in the world of whisky is the use of two barrels in maturation, but it’s that third barrel we use to mature Grant’s Triple Wood 12 that sets us apart – Two barrels make it good, the third makes it Grant’s.”

Anticipating that guests would have preferred serves, Mthiyane worked with the chef and the mixologists to create a bespoke food and cocktail menu that also complimented the restaurant.

Winner of the Gold medal at IWSC 2020 & 2021, and the world’s best-blended scotch whisky at the IWSC in 2019 (one of the industry’s most prestigious competitions), Grant’s Triple Wood 12, the brand’s latest addition, is a creamy, fruity spirit that is aged in three barrels for a minimum of 12 years before blending, resulting in a rich, complex, final product.
